Inside Dewar’s Partnership with The Onwards Expedition

The expedition

In November 2026, Max and Martin will embark on a 1,349km unsupported journey across Antarctica, navigating one of the most challenging environments on Earth. Over two months they will ski to the Geographic South Pole, facing temperatures as low as -40°C, winds reaching 100mph and elevations of more than 2,800 metres above sea level.

The Next Chapter

Inspired by the legacy of Max’s late father, renowned polar explorer Henry Worsley, the expedition seeks to inspire a new generation to embrace exploration, connect more deeply with the natural world and support causes including the British Exploring Society and The Earthshot Prize.

FAMILY LINEAGE

Ahead of the expedition, Dewar’s welcomed Max to Aberfeldy, his first visit to the brand’s spiritual home. Exploring the archives alongside Dewar’s Global Heritage Manager Jacqui Seargeant, Max uncovered family stories, historical connections and the values that continue to link the Dewar and Worsley families today. The visit is documented in a new film that celebrates the people, experiences and moments that shape who we are and the stories we carry forward.

ONWARDS

The Onwards Expedition is a reminder that progress is rarely achieved by standing still. Crossing Antarctica and crafting the World’s Most Awarded. Blended Scotch may be very different pursuits, but both are driven by the same mindset : curiosity, courage and a desire to go beyond what is known.

For Dewar’s, that spirit has always been at the heart of our story.
