Our Whisky Cocktails

Winter Cocktail Menu

In 1892 while out with friends in New York, Tommy Dewar asked for his whisky to be served in a tall glass, along with soda and ice – and so the ‘Original Highball’ was born, and became the perfect drink to enhance the smoothness of our whisky.

Porto Fizz

Warming and fragrant. A lengthened version of a Bobby Burns cocktail, freshened up with aromatic tonic.

Mamie Taylor

Refreshing and long. One of the best ways to enjoy Dewar’s White Label, the perfect sipper for those that are not yet fully-fledged whisky drinkers

The 175

Created to mark the 175th anniversary of John Dewar & Son’s, this celebratory cocktail is the ideal drink to toast our founders with. Made with our special limited edition Dewar’s 175th Anniversary Blend, paired with Cherry Heering, chocolate bitter and refreshing Ginger Ale, this is a much try for such a momentous year for Dewar’s. Here’s to the next 175 years!

Aberfeldy Summer’s Gold

In our Summer’s Gold we combine our Golden Dram, Aberfeldy 12yr, with Martini Rubino, cocktail bitters and Ginger Ale. The perfect drink to sip and savour on a hot summer’s day.

Harbourside Highball

Way up on the Northeast coast of Scotland you will find our Macduff distillery, only about 100 meters from the stormy North Sea. We created this drink enjoy on the beach at Macduff, on that one day of the year that the sun comes out! It highlights and emphasises all the big flavour notes of Macduff, with green apple, a nutty richness and floral sweetness, by combining our fantastic Deveron 10yr with St Germain, Orgeat (an almond based syrup) and sparkling apple juice.

All Things Nice

The All Things Nice literally combines all thing nice in terms of festive flavours. Sweet and fruity vermouth, chocolate bitters, spiced orange ginger ale… and of course whisky! Created in 2 mins flat for a social post but the result was so good we wanted it to hang around for longer so we could enjoy and share it!

Short Drinks

The Gold Fashioned

Celebrating the golden union between Aberfeldy and honey, this simple twist on an old fashioned really accentuates the main flavour notes of Aberfeldy single malts house style, honey and citrus. If you like an Old Fashioned then the you guaranteed to like this, in our humble opinion, it is better than the classic.

The Unsung Hero

A sweet and elegant short drink, created to honour the founder of our Aultmore Distillery (and co-founder of Craigellachie!), Alexander Edwards, a true unsung hero of the Scotch Whisky Industry. This ‘foggy’ drink shows off the lovely sweet floral nature of Aultmore and really lets the character of the distillery shine.

Bobby Burns

A classic whisky cocktail, a very simple twist on the Rob Roy (a Scotch Whisky Manhattan) with the addition of Benedictine, an herbal orange liqueur. We have combined our spicy Dewar’s 12yr with Martini Ross, Benedictine, and cocktail bitters. This is an elegant short drink that should be savoured – put your feet up and relax.

The Mackie

This is our twist on a black Manhattan, but we did so much twisting it is basically something completely different! We chose to use our Craigellachie 13 because its muscular and bold style can easily stand up against the slight vegetal sweetness that comes from Averna, making for an incredibly complex drink. Add in some Martini Rubino to bring that dried fruit/plum character and some cherry bitters and we are left with an unusual yet delicious drank, very much like Craigellachie itself, and it co-founder, Peter Mackie.
