About our single cask Aberfeldy \u2018self-fill\u2019<\/h3>\n

Our visitors have the opportunity to purchase a bottle of a unique single cask Aberfeldy, exclusive to the Dewar\u2019s Aberfeldy Distillery. Fill and label your own limited edition bottle of Aberfeldy from one of our \u2018self-fills\u2019, each bottle individually numbered. Every cask we open is different, so we never know how many bottles we are going to get, generally dependent on the cask size and type, as well as the age of the whisky, we can expect anywhere from 150 to 600 bottles. And when the last bottle is gone, its unique taste passes into history.<\/p>\n

Cask No. 21426 is an ex-american oak cask, which gives a lighter colour and character compared to sherry or port casks. Bottled at 56.95% abv, cask 21426 was laid down in 2001 and was released from the warehouse in April 2017, with the last bottle being filled on site on 17th August 2018. A total of 187 bottles were filled from this cask.<\/p>\n

Whisky tasting notes<\/h3>\n

As two casks of Scotch whisky are never quite the same, we never know exactly what aromas and flavours to expect. The tasting notes for our distillery casks are created by our distillery team. Here are the\u00a0tasting notes for this delicious single cask whisky:<\/p>\n

Caramel, Spicy, Nutty<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

CARAMEL<\/strong>
\nSweet and fresh, almost sap-like with vanilla custard and icing sugar.<\/p>\n

SPICY<\/strong>
\nFiery ginger, mustard and green chilli, with fragrant black pepper and tannic oak.<\/p>\n

NUTTY<\/strong>
\nHeavy, oily almond butter, tobacco leaf and an ashy, dying bonfire note.<\/p>\n

How to purchase a bottle from this unique Scotch whisky cask<\/h3>\n

Cask number 21426 is currently sold out, and due to the nature of oak casks, each single cask bottling has its own unique character and flavour.<\/p>\n
