About our single cask Aberfeldy \u2018self-fill\u2019<\/h3>\n

Our visitors have the opportunity to purchase a bottle of a unique single cask Aberfeldy, exclusive to the Dewar\u2019s Aberfeldy Distillery. Fill and label your own limited edition bottle of Aberfeldy from one of our \u2018self-fills\u2019, each bottle individually numbered. Every cask we open is different, so we never know how many bottles we are going to get, generally dependent on the cask size and type, as well as the age of the whisky, we can expect anywhere from 150 to 600 bottles. And when the last bottle is gone, its unique taste passes into history.<\/p>\n

Cask No. 5 is an ex-Sherry butt, which gives a rich colour and character compared to an American oak cask. Bottled at 56.5% abv, cask 5 was laid down in 1999, and was released from the warehouse in November 2016, with the last bottle being filled on site on 24th November 2017.\u00a0A total of 609 bottles were filled from this cask.<\/p>\n

Whisky tasting notes<\/h3>\n

As two casks of Scotch whisky are never quite the same, we never know exactly what aromas and flavours to expect. The tasting notes for our distillery casks are created by our distillery team. Here are the\u00a0tasting notes for this delicious single cask whisky:<\/p>\n

Spicy,<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Bitter-Richness, Fruity<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

SPICY<\/b>
\nHot ginger on the nose with cracked white pepper, cinnamon and creamy vanilla. All swimming in a sticky salted caramel.<\/p>\n

BITTER-RICHNESS<\/b>
\nBitter and fruity dark chocolate, espresso coffee, stewed plums, tannic sherried woodiness and tobacco leaf.<\/p>\n

FRUITY<\/strong>
\nA baking cupboard bonanza with raisins, sultanas, mixed peel, dried orange slices and rich muscovado sugar.<\/p>\n
