WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits
For individuals new to the subject, this qualification offers a hands-on introduction to the world of spirits. You’ll explore the main styles and types of spirits through sight, smell, and taste to develop an understanding of the key factors affecting flavours and aromas.
Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.
About Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery Spirits School
At Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery we are delighted to offer this WSET Spirits Level 1 course, delivered in our atmospheric Blending Room by Jonathan Wilson DipWSET, a qualified Spirits Educator with 14 years’ experience in the industry. By studying with us, you can learn about the whole spirits industry in an atmospheric setting, spend time at our distillery and gain a qualification regulated by the UK Government, Ofqual.

WSET spirits qualifications equip students to look beyond the brand to understand the base material and production choices that define a spirit’s category, flavour and aroma profile.
Delivery and Assessment
This qualification has a minimum requirement of six hours of study time in a classroom or online. Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions.
